Our Story
The House of Silhoux was born from a love of performance, textiles and transformation.
Its visual world draws from theatre, film, literature, ballet and opera; from the faded glamour of music halls and vintage cabaret; from mythology, folklore, fantasy, ceremony and the strange beauty of imagined worlds.
Forgotten theatres, moonlit landscap
The House of Silhoux was born from a love of performance, textiles and transformation.
Its visual world draws from theatre, film, literature, ballet and opera; from the faded glamour of music halls and vintage cabaret; from mythology, folklore, fantasy, ceremony and the strange beauty of imagined worlds.
Forgotten theatres, moonlit landscapes, dreamlike cities, mythical creatures, curious relics and fictional kingdoms may all find their way into a Silhoux creation — but never as straightforward reproduction. References are gathered, studied, dismantled and transformed.
A fragment of antique embroidery might suggest the skin of an imagined creature. The silhouette of a ballet costume might become something darker and more sensual. A jewel-toned palette might become the robes of a queen from a place that has never existed.
Reality becomes the raw material from which another world is made.

A sleeve must fall in precisely the right way. A fringe must carry the right weight. A stone must catch the light at exactly the right moment as a performer turns.
The workmanship may be painstaking, but the finished effect should feel effortless: the audience sees the magic, never the labour that created it.
From decadent showgirls and moonlit queens to serpentine beings, strange birds, fantastical creatures and characters belonging to no particular time or place, House of Silhoux creates theatrical couture in which craft, character and spectacle become inseparable.
